It was the last day of 2018. I was taking my dog for a walk. I wanted to go down to the beach but it was a long walk. So I decided to take a shortcut through an old cemetery. There was a light breeze that carried the smell of seaweed and saltwater. The damp air settled on the ground and covered the tombstones. Although you could hear the crashing of the waves in the background, the faint bark of a dog and cry of a crow could be heard. The ground of the cemetery reached all of the way out To the sandy beach shoreline.

Last year when I went to that old cemetery I was walking with my dog Mati and we passed a tombstone and when I saw that tombstone I read the name that was on the tombstone and it read: hear lies Lillian Rose. When I saw that name I just stood there. We started walking again and when I got to the edge of the cemetery I looked back and I saw something moving in the shadows. It was creepy. When we got to the beach I let Mati off her leash and I picked up a stick and I threw it. When Mati was retrieving the stick I heard a whisper and a tapping on my shoulder I turned around and I saw nothing. I just stood there in the cold breeze looking around.
I put Mati back on her leash and started for home. When I got home I went to ask my mom about the name I saw on the tombstone. She started telling me a story about my great great grandmother Lillian Rose “you’re great great grandmother Lillian was my great grandmother and I didn’t know her that well. She died when I was 6. I knew her but not that well.” After she told me that I just said “ok” and went up to my room. I was sitting on my bed and then I thought to myself why I felt tapping on my shoulder at the beach and then I got up to close the window because it was cold and I Looked outside and saw something move. “Who is it. Are you the person from the beach!” I said. There was no answer. The next day I went down to the beach with Mati and we took the same shortcut through the cemetery and we passed my great great grandmother's tombstone and I just thought about it for a little while. Then we started for the beach right as I Turned away for the beach. I saw in the corner of my eye a dark shadowy figure come up from out of her grave I was just staring in amazement at the ghost. I started running as fast as I could down to the beach and I Was screaming the whole way. Mati was barking and pulling so it was sort of hard to run. But when I got to the edge of the cemetery and The beginning of the beach the ghost grabbed my arm. I pulled my arm away and said “who are you” she responded with “I’m you’re great great grandmother.” I said “can you just leave me alone you’ve sort of scared me so just leave me alone!” She didn’t respond, she just floated away. When Iwas walking home I passed by Melanie’s house and Lillian was following me “can you just stop” I said. Melanie saw that and said “who are you talking to”. I just responded with “no one” and kept walking. When I got home I told her to go back to her grave and she said no because it's lonely over there and
I said you could stay in the garden and tomorrow I would find her a ghost friend. The next morning I woke up from tapping on the window. I Could tell that Lillian wanted a friend. we looked all over the town. We have 2 cemeteries in our town. didn’t find anyone where she was buried when we were looking in the other cemetery we were looking for a friend when Melanie was walking she saw me talking with Lillian she crept up behind me and said who are you talking to? I stuttered and said “um to myself”. Melanie responded with “no you’re not”. I didn’t respond. I just walked away from Melanie and said leave me alone please and she did. On the last tombstone of the cemetery we asked if anyone was there and someone said “Hi,my name is John”. Lillian just said hi back and they hung out for a while and I said I was gonna go home. When Igot to the front door I looked at mati and she looked at me and I said that I Love you sweet puppy and mati said I love you too…………….
